James Mwaura of Gonzaga placed third at the NCAA West regional to guarantee and individual berth to the NCAA Championships after missing out on an opportunity in 2018 by one spot. At the time of this interview, Gonzaga believed that sixth place in the team standings was enough to secure a first ever team berth to nationals as well, but later found out that it might have been the first team out. Official announcements on at-large berths are due on Saturday.
