Gonzaga's Wil Smith broke the sub-4 minute barrier in the mile for the first time Saturday at the Washington State Indoor Open and Combined Events at The Podium in Spokane, Wash., and it was also the first sub-4 clocking in program history for the Zags. Smith edged out Montana State's Duncan Hamilton to get the win in 3:59.36. Hamilton was second in 3:59.75.
